2016 was a big year for the great outdoors since it was the 100th anniversary of our beloved National Park Service (NPS). As part of the celebration, a large summit was held on April 20, 2016 called “2016 National Learning Summit: Learning from the Outside In.” It was a very well attended event and was held in the prestigious Grosvenor Auditorium, part of the National Geographic Society.
Indeed, our national parks are a perfect, natural classroom, and we’re lucky to have them. We appreciate and applaud the hard work of the staff and volunteers at all levels within the NPS nationwide. Without them, there would be no way the system would be such an accessible resource for us. And, part of what was discussed was making the parks even more accessible and to expand services.
Now that the summit is behind us, it’s time for us to begin looking at what we can do here on the website. Please stop by again to see what’s in store.
